TANGO Co-op: a Unique Clinical Experience

By Eliza Joy

TANGO stands for VETERANS AFFAIRS NURSING EDUCATION COOPERATIVE. “The TANGO CO-OP provides nursing students the opportunity to complete their clinical rotations at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City,” said associate dean Dr. Julie Valentine. Students begin the program during their third semester in nursing school, then continue throughout the rest of their education. Nursing students can increase clinical skills while caring for our nation’s veterans. Dr. Valentine continued, “This cooperative relationship benefits students interested in a Veterans Health Administration nursing career, opening up a multitude of career and educational opportunities.”

If you are a second semester student interested in the program, now is the time to begin applying. For more information on program details and application, contact Julie Valentine at julie_valentine@byu.edu

Happy Veterans Day! The BYU College of Nursing thanks all those who fight to protect our freedoms.
